Our fall fertilizer and lime application is one of the most important treatments of the year.  There are innumerable benefits, and this diagram represents just one aspect of the lime’s action.  Lime corrects (raises) the pH of the soil. Proper pH is vital for the health of the lawn, and increased root growth is just one of the dramatic benefits.
